Research progress of on- line pickling process of duplex stainless steel plate

Abstract:In a horizontal continuous spray pickling line, by using the original equipment and H2SO4+(HNO3+HF)pickling technology, the duplex stainless steel plate was pickled. After acid pickling, the light gray defects and the roll mark defects were appeared on the surface. To solve these problems, taking S32205 duplex stainless steel plate as the represented brands, a two- step mixed acid (HNO3+HF) pickling method was discussed, and its test and research in laboratory and industry were carried out, and the technical transformation of the original horizontal spray pickling production line was conducted. For the pickling of S32205 steel plate, the two- step mixing acid (HNO3+HF) pickling process was applied. And the main process parameters were HNO3 180 g/L+HF 90 g/L in pre- pickling process, HNO3 265 g/L+HF 56 g/L in final pickling process, the pickling temperature is 43 ℃and the once qualified rate is over 95%. The light gray defects and the roll mark defects appeared on the surface after the pickling of the duplex stainless steel were solved technically. The steel surface was sliver, and the color and luster were even. The requirements for the product standard concerning surface quality of the duplex stainless steel were met.
